DSi seems pretty crappy to me. A camera instead of a port for GBA games? Why would any gamer want that? At this point though I guess most gamers own a DS so this one isn't for us. The Wii stuff looks really nice. I hope all those games make it outside of Japan. Punch out and Sin & Punishment 2 are obviously the stand out games.

Yeah, it seems pretty stupid. Though I might end up buying one anyways just for the new download service.

I'm guessing this DSi must have 12 mb of ram or atleast 8, instead of 4. Considering the bulit in browser. Kind of like the PSP-2000 changing from 32 to 64. Not that this will have any effect on games, just thought it was interesting.

Anyway i'm hyped for Sin and Punishment 2. I would be hyped for Shining Force Feather but considering the previous entries not so much.

My disappointment with the DSi is the lack of the GBA slot but the SD slot with the downloads of DSi ware could be interesting plus they may add-on a GB VC for all GB games and maybe for the other handheld games as well.

I'll reiterate my position that I had about the DSL: not until they make an electric blue color. that being said, I'm hoping to get a DSL soon.

It's not a hard drive. Just a [probably tiny] amount of flash memory, with the option to expand it via SD.

DSi sucks. It's better than the DS lite in some ways (camera for games, virtual console) but it's worse in others (battery life, GBA slot). Dont know if I'll get it but probably wont unless they add a GBA slot. DS games shown were all awesome. Sonic and Black night, Klonoa, Murasama all looked amazing.

I think this is a great conference just because Sin & Punishment 2 and Punch Out Wii the rest is just extra Trace Memory Wii also sounds cool I never played Trace Memory on the DS since I don't have one.

It's not a hard drive. Just a [probably tiny] amount of flash memory, with the option to expand it via SD.

It still allows you to play Wiiware games on your GBA.

I own 3 GBAs, 3 DS and the attachment that allows me to play GBA games on my GC.

I really don't need another system that allows me to play GBA games.

I would much rather have a camera or anything that would help gaming than another way to play GBA games.

This conference was amazing. Much better than Nintendo's E3, or Sony and MS's for that matter.

Too bad it won't get the attention it deserves on this board by all of these Lems and Cows,

Oh well, this pretty much seals the deal that Nintendo has crushed Sony and MS this console war.

Absolutely huge conference. Nintendo anounced a ton of new great games and a bunch of other things. Heck the "minor" enhancement was the fact that the Wii can now use the SD card slot for storage. What's crazy is that people on this site are still calling this conference bad. I mean seriously there is simply no appeasing some people.

Great conference but I'm disappointed with the DSi. Why did they make a bigger DS? I'ts hard enough to carry around a DSL, the DSi is thinner but it is also wider and longer and the shorter battery life isn't helping.

Here is why I am dissappointed.

1) DSi - I already had a DS fat, then I out came DS Lite and was much better then DS fat, now they are introducing another change to the DS with a bigger screen. How could anyone not be a little upset about this if they have already been through two DSs like I have.

2) Punchout - I don't really care about this game at all, never liked it on the NES. So it isn't a huge title for me to get excited over.

3) Sin and Punishment 2 - Need to find out more information on this before I can really judge it. The first one was fun but really short.

The conference wasn't that big, maybe when you add last night and tonight together we will have something to work with. For right now though the conference was decent for me.

Actually DS sales have slowed down considerably in Japan. It's getting outsold consistantly by the PSP now. The main reason for that is propably due to the fact that most gamers in Japan already have one...

360 10000

First half sales:

• Hardware:
Nintendo DS (DS and DS Lite)
First half of the year: 1,314,919
Total units sold: 23,484,680

PSP (PSP-1000 and PSP-2000)
First half of the year: 1,583,731
Total units sold: 10,157,757

And that is only because PSP had some huge games earlier in the year like Monster Hunte. If the two systems were to stay at the same pace(we know they aren't, both will increase) in about 6 weeks DS will overtake the PSP sales in 2008.

[QUOTE="Firelore29"]Absolutely huge conference. Nintendo anounced a ton of new great games and a bunch of other things. Heck the "minor" enhancement was the fact that the Wii can now use the SD card slot for storage. What's crazy is that people on this site are still calling this conference bad. I mean seriously there is simply no appeasing some people.spinecaton

Ok seriously you said 3 things out of about 20 things that were shown. The fact that they finally gave a storage solution for the Wii alone is big enough to make it a good conference. As to your three points:

1. I would gladly throw out an extra 180 bucks for a larger DS screen as that's my biggest complaint with the current one. It's also lighter, has a storage solutions, and is going to allow you to download games which is great. You don't have to buy this but it is a great improvement.

2. The fact that you didn't play Punchout does not make it a great game. It is a huge game announcement you simply fail to realize that.

3. Your point here is that "Yes the game may be great but I simply havn't seen much about it so it's not a big annoucement". Seriously that's a pretty petty complaint.

Number 3. wasn't really a complaint it was just the only other announcement that I cared about.

Number 2. I guess you can't really comprehend my post, because I never said that "I never played Punch Out"

People like you that keep buying the same system over and over just with little upgrades are the ones telling Nintendo "Hey its okay, I will buy the same thing again and again as long as there are some changes"

Oh and a storage solution for the Wii that should have been there from day 1. That is why I didn't include it, ecspecially since we knew they were changing it about a month and a half ago.

[QUOTE="supermechakirby"]the DSi is SEVERLY unnecisisary spinecaton

It will get people buying DS's in Japan again.

AND WHY THE HELL DO THEY NEED THAT?!?!

its not like the damn thing ISNT selling

Actually DS sales have slowed down considerably in Japan. It's getting outsold consistantly by the PSP now. The main reason for that is propably due to the fact that most gamers in Japan already have one...

Slowed down? You mean it isn't doing the 120k a week like it did last year? 60k a week is slow?

DSL 60000
PSP 25000
Wii 26000

Ok look at your own numbers there ...

Total DS sold in Japan: 23m First half of the year: 1.3m

Total PSP sold in Japan: 10m First half of the year: 1.6m

Are you completely blind to your own numbers? Why don't you post the total DS's sold in Japan last year and the year before vs this year. OH ya ... because they contradict your point.

I said how much they were getting weekly last year didn't I? They were making about 120k a week last year. DS is now constantly on top of the weekly sales charts in Japan and yet that is slowing down to you.

Please go review the games that were shown at the conference as you obviously failed to do so before you started posting. Your failure to recognize all of the changes, improvements, and games that Nintendo announced during this conference is simply dumbfounding.

Ok again your still failing to recognize your own numbers:

120k per week > 60k per week

That's what we in the gaming industry call a "slowdown". Nintendo is trying to regain momentum.

I watched the videos of moth DS and Wii lineup at that one Japanese site, I was up until 2am last night refreshing IGN's page every minute, and I posted a lot in the -cnc- thread last night. I know exactly what went down so why bother attacking me.

Here are the announcements I don't care about:

Punch Out, DSi, Samurai Warriors, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals(Wii version) is done multiplayer through DS, reading games from your SD card which should have been implemented from day 1 VC started.

The announcements I care about:

Even though I don't care about the DSi itself, I do like the download feature they will be adding, new Tales of game, Mario and Luigi RPG 3, and the two re-releases of Pikmin.

Yeah and I don't really think they need to since they are still on top, this just proves more and more that GIF of the DS printing money and they are just basking in it freshly printed bills. I would have much rather then a brand new handheld system DS 2 and another remake of the DS again. This is just me though.
